Monthly favourites: August

Advertisements

Hello, all!

Today, as you may have read, I am going to tell you my monthly favorites of August. I will leave links to everything and also a picture if relevant.

1.Look what you made me do-Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has come back, and she’s come back hard! With a new single that is smashing the charts. In less than a week, she stole the number 1 spot off of Dua Lipa. Her new album, reputation, is out on November the tenth. Just over two months to go! In early September she published another single, are you ready for it?, which has a different vibe to anything she’s ever done before. As she said in her song look what you made me do, the old Taylor is dead and a new one is emerging.

2.The falsies push up drama by Maybelline new york.

This mascara is the bomb! Its brush is like no other I’ve ever used before and it is totally unique. You hardly have to do a thing and your lashes will look simply stunning! The brush is also perfectly shaped to fit your lash shape, with a slight curve and longer bristles on the outer edge so your outer lashes will get more than the inner lashes.

3.Sarahah: Sarahah is an app that lets people leave anonymous sentences about you, however, this is more fun then it seems, because instead of just reading the messages and leaving them, you can post them on Instagram, work out who sent them or even laugh at them with your friends. Overall this app is really fun. Its available in 3 formats, online, on an app or online on your phone.

4.Chocolate fudge cake: Now I know you might think I’m being greedy but, this cake is AMAZ>ING!! It is very similar to a chocolate mud cake but it is less dense. I recommend putting the icing on the top, which will probably be in the recipe, and topping it with double cream whenever you have a slice. I like to have it with a cup of tea when I’m writing my blog. The recipe I use is from a cooking blog and it is linked down below.

5. Cerys Armitage: Cerys Armitage isn’t probably someone you’ve heard of, but she is a thirteen-year-old YouTuber from Leeds. She mainly does videos that suit teenagers. But regardless of your age, try giving her a go. My favourite thing about her channel is the fact that we will grow up with her and see her change because she started youtube so young, you can already see changes in her! Try to ignore the eyebrows!

Back to school

You’ve probably already worked that out from the endless back to school videos on youtube or from your local stationery shop going crazy with sales that it is back to school time. Anyway in this blog I will be telling you about my back to school essentials.

First of all, I am a 12-year-old student starting year 8. However, my school goes up to year 8 all the way from nursery so I am still at primary school. This year is my common entrance year, common entrance is an exam that everyone has to take for 13+ entrance into secondary school.

  1. My school bag: my school has a set school bag with the school logo on that everyone has to use to bring their books to school and back. So I have the plain old boring backpack as everyone else in my school.
  2. Clear Popper Wallets: I use these for my homework because sometimes teachers don’t supply you with homework folders and it all ends up getting crumpled up and destroyed and nearly always lost. (I copied this idea from a friend of mine)
  3. My trusty old pencil case: I have a very simple and small pencil case because then I won’t raid WHSmiths and waste 50 quid. I have two bic 4way pens (The light one and the basic one) A pencil, rubber and highlighter. (All the basics to be honest)
  4. My A4 Pukka Pad: I have an A4 Pink/Blue pukka pad which I use for homework, projects, revision and for giving to my friends because I’m always the only one with paper! I love this pukka pad and would highly recommend it. It comes in a bargain £5 set from Tescos.
  5. My emergency kit: I have an emergency kit in my bag because I seem to be very unprepared and I never have lip balm or a hair bobble etc. So I have a small makeup bag from Oliver Bonas with a blue, orange, pink and grey leopard print on it. Inside there is my baby lips sport lip balm in seas the blue, my extra gum in the spearmint flavour, my Nivea travel size sun cream with an SPF of 30, my soap and glory hand maid (which is a hand gel), some blackcurrant strepsils, some plain black hair bobbles and a miniature hairbrush.

Thank you very much for listening to my very basic back to school blog for 2017, please read more of my posts and click the follow button.
